The Oyster Lake Preservation Society was formed in 2021. Residents and landowners on the lake, and in Dune Allen Subdivision began this process in 2020, shortly after we lost access to our outfall and to the Gulf through the outfall, access which we had enjoyed forever. A core group of 17 neighbors met with attorney Robert Kaufman of Dunlap & Shipman who advised us of our legal position on this matter and drafted our articles of incorporation. As we researched this and other lake issues we realized there was no entity that was adequately advocating for our lake, or neighborhood. And while the issue with the outfall was the event that triggered our initial action, our mission has grown larger, to be that advocate.
